Pastor: Doug Nab

Pastor Nab is originally from North Wilkesboro, NC. He is married to Kristi, who is also from North Wilkesboro. The two met while in High School. Doug and Kristi have two daughters, Kelli and Kayti and one granddaughter Millie. Kelli is married to David, an Army officer, and they are stationed at JBLM, Washington. Kayti is married to Dalton and they serve as missionaries with Cadence International in Dupont, Washington. Kayti and Dalton have a daughter, Millie. Doug and Kristi reside in Lincolnton, NC.

Pastor Nab retired from the military in 2020 with nearly 21 years of service. He was enlisted for five years as an Airborne Infantryman. He then served as an Army Chaplain for nearly 16 years. He spent 23 months in Iraq or Afghanistan as part of combat responsibilities where he earned two Bronze Stars and a Joint Commendation medal. He also has roughly 80 parachute jumps and graduated from the US Army Ranger School in 2009.

Pastor Nab served in full time prison ministry with the Rock of Ages Prison Ministry from 2001-2004. He has served as Pastor for churches in Mountain View, NC and Bessemer City, NC. Pastor Nab has a Master of Arts and Master of Divinity degree from Liberty Theological Seminary. He has a Master of Theology degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

Pastor Nab enjoys reading military history and riding motorcycles in his free time. He is a part of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. He is a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Carolina Hurricanes. Doug and Kristi always enjoy spending time with their rescue dog, Gus.

Pastor Nab was saved at age 18 while in basic training at Ft. Benning, GA. He surrendered to full time ministry at age 24. He and Kristi started attending Catawba Valley Baptist Church in February of 2023. He looks forward to serving CVBC and helping the church accomplish the plan that God has for us in the days ahead.
